Cornerback Ronald Zamort seemingly is solidifying his standing on the roster.
Elsewhere on defense, cornerback Ronald Zamort seemingly is solidifying his standing on the roster.
Zamort has been flying around to the football, batted down several passes and intercepted a couple of others so far this summer.
When Grant Haley, who has taken the vast majority of first-team reps since the spring, went down with a shoulder injury mid-practice it was Zamort and not rookie Julian Love, Corey Ballentine or any of the other defensive backs who bumped up to the starting unit.
There is little competition for starting jobs as the Giants reach the beginning of training camp, but Russell, Connelly and Zamort have acquitted themselves nicely so far in their fight for a spot on the 53-man roster when the regular season kicks off next month.
