William Clay joined the Shark Sports team after a successful career coaching at the Division 1 level, where he utilized his experience in player development and talent evaluation as an assistant coach and Director of Player Development at Coastal Carolina University.
Now entering his third season as an agent, he was able to oversee the draft process and representation of both Maya Caldwell (Drafted 33rd overall by the Indiana Fever–2021) and Mya Hollinghsed (Drafted 8th overall by the Las Vegas Aces–2022), in addition to helping place a number of players in top leagues around the world.
While owning one of the premier basketball skills academies in Conway/Myrtle Beach, SC (Diamond in the Rough Skills Academy), Clay also serves as a coach and lead player development at Euro-Grades basketball combines.. Additionally, he has used the combination of his background as a college math professor with his experience in player development to publish basketball content in Winning Hoops Magazine, Championship Productions, and also lecture as an on-court presenter at the WBCA Final Four.
